About the founder and editor
Matthew Reynolds is an award-winning games journalist based in the UK. He was previously an editor at Polygon, Eurogamer, and Digital Spy, and has written for the likes of The Guardian, MobileGamer.biz, Rock Paper Shotgun and Retro Gamer magazine. He was named one of the 25 most influential journalists in the UK games media (MCV, 2014), and is the recipient of multiple Games Media Awards. He is also a member of BAFTA.
Matthew has covered Pokémon Go since it launched back in the summer of 2016, helping players get the most of the game with approachable guides, features, and reporting. He has also been a fan of the Pokémon series since its earliest days, using his long journeys to school in the ‘90s to fully complete the original Pokédex in Pokémon Red. He regrets wiping his save file to start a new game, only to reach the second gym and never touch it again.
