How to find costumed Ditto in the Pokémon Pokopia event in Pokémon Go

Whether in the wild, Timed Research or Collection Challenges, there's a few ways to get new hatted Ditto.

The 'Pokémon Pokopia Celebration Event' introduces something new for Pokémon Go - costumed Ditto.

There are two costume forms available - Ditto wearing a cap, and Ditto wearing a hat - and for Pokémon Go completionists, both have the potential to be shiny and have a Special Background.

As part of the the event, the Pokémon that Ditto can be disguised will be different than usual, with the full list - as well as a recap of other event bonuses - listed below.


How to get costume Ditto in the Pokémon Pokopia event

There are three ways to encounter a costumed Ditto in the Pokémon Pokopia event, which runs between 10am local time Tuesday, 10th March to Monday, 16th March at 8pm:

Wild Pokémon transformations

The following wild Pokémon have the potential to transform into a costume Ditto:

As a reminder, if you are hunting for a shiny Ditto, the Pokémon it is disguised as doesn't have to be shiny itself.

Timed Research

You can catch a costumed Ditto by completing the following two steps of the Pokémon Pokopia Timed Research:

While these two Timed Research catches are one-offs, both are guaranteed to have a Pokémon Pokopia Special Background.

Collection Challenges

Finally, completing Collection Challenges rewards in costumed Ditto encounters:

While these two rewards are one-off Ditto catches, both are guaranteed to have a Pokémon Pokopia Special Background.
