Gen 10 mainline games Pokémon Winds and Waves have been revealed during February's Pokémon Presents 2026 presentation.
As expected, it'll be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Less expected is a 2027 release date - meaning we'll have been waiting more than four years since 2022's Pokémon Scarlet and Violet by the time it arrives.
Here's details from the official press release:
Developed by GAME FREAK inc., the Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves games are the newest entries in the Pokémon RPG series and are scheduled for release in 2027 on the Nintendo Switch 2 system. These new titles feature an open world to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves.
Trainers will play as the main character of this adventure, where they will have a different outfit depending on the version they are playing. Players will then choose their first partner Pokémon — either Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon; Pombon, the Puppy Pokémon; or Gecqua, the Water Gecko Pokémon — before setting off on their journey.

There's some extra colour from the official blog, too:
Developed by GAME FREAK exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, these new titles feature an open world to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves. The Pokémon that live in harmony with this region’s lush environment have developed their own unique ecosystems. During this adventure, you’ll team up with all kinds of Pokémon to overcome both the difficult road ahead and even the forces of nature that block your path at times.
Additionally, it's revealed Pokémon Winds and Waves will be the first time Brazilian Portuguese will be supported officially.
