Visiting a National Trust Pokémon trail this summer? Here's what to expect - and what I thought

Between 23rd May and 6th September 2026, The Pokémon Company has set up walking trails in a selection of National Trust properties across England and Wales.

Beyond remembering the dates and that they only feature at select locations (our original story features the full list), taking part is pretty simple: trails come at no cost beyond admission to the property, and there's no need to book ahead of time - you just show up and take part.

But what are the Pokémon trails like? Based on the one I visited on the opening weekend, they're pretty simple - with some room for improvement - and though I wouldn't necessarily go with the sole intention of walking one, as part of a wider trip it's worth a visit - especially if you already have National Trust membership.

Here's what to expect from a Pokémon trail, the limited-time reward for taking part, the one thing I'd recommend bringing with you, and the all-important Pokémon Go player's insight if you fancy playing on your visit.
