The Pokémon Go National Trust event is running between 8th July and 6th September at 27 properties across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The 27 sites are split up into four regions, each with their own Pokémon in raids and a Location Background to collect.
There's also three different types of Timed Research on offer: one nationwide for everyone across the UK, one local research per site, and one available per month.
There's a lot going on, basically - so here's a breakdown of all the Pokémon Go National Trust locations, the three types of National Trust Timed Research quests and the rewards available, and how exactly National Trust raids and Location Backgrounds work.
How does the Pokémon Go National Trust event, raids and Location Backgrounds work?
The highlight of the National Trust collaboration is that each location as its own Location Background, and there's a couple of extra Timed Research quests up for grabs from visiting.
Before we get into specific locations and Timed Research rewards, here's how it all works:
- There are 27 properties split into four regions, each with their own Pokémon: Hoppip (Southern England Coast); Sewaddle (Midlands and London); Pineco (North, including Northern Ireland); and Seedot (South West and Wales).
- At each of these locations will feature two Gyms dedicated to the highlighted Pokémon in question, each running a raid all day (for eight hours between 10am to 6pm).
- While this means you can only battle two raids per day, the upshot is these Gyms won't be blocked by other raids happening that day (such as during a Raid Day or other events).
- The Local Timed Research and monthly Timed Research will unlock when you are within the radius of the property. The exact distance will differ depending on the site, but it popped for me about 30 seconds before I arrived by car.
- Based on my experience, and those online, the Gyms should be accessible without paying to enter the property.
- In summary - you should be able to get these Location Backgrounds from raids and Timed Research without paying to enter.
- You are able to Remote Raid into these raids, but whether the Location Background will appear for those not playing locally is unknown. (They are all otherwise one-star raids, and so easily soloable.)
- The Location Background is guaranteed on the first encounter, while subsequent encounters have a chance of it appearing.
- The Local Timed Research encounter with Treeko, Grovyle and Sceptile will also feature that site's Location Background.
- Each of the highlighted Pokémon has a chance of being shiny.

The following Timed Research was made available UK-wide on Saturday, 18th July, and must be completed by 6th September:

- Hatch an Egg (10 Poké Balls)
- Catch 5 different species of Pokémon (10 Razz Berries)
- Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokémon (10 Pinap Berries)
Rewards: 2,026 Stardust, 2,026 XP, Seedot encounter (no background)
Pokémon Go National Trust Timed Research - July
The following Timed Research can be collected by visiting any site during the month of July, and will expire at the end of the month:
National Trust Timed Research - July (step 1 of 1)
- Spin 20 PokéStops or Gyms (20 Poké Balls)
- Catch a Pokémon on 3 different days (10 Potions)
- Explore 5 km (10 Pinap Berries)
Rewards: 2,026 Stardust, 2,026 XP, Pineco encounter (no background)
Pokémon Go National Trust Local Timed Research
The following Timed Research can be collected by visiting any site. Each location will add Local Timed Research, each with their own unique Location Background encounters. (And yes, they stack, meaning you can complete multiple together, albeit before the 6th September deadline.)

- Hatch 1 Egg (1 Revive)
- Win 1 Raid (10 Razz Berries)
Rewards: Treecko encounter with Location Background, 1,000 Stardust, 1,000 XP
National Trust Local Timed Research (step 2 of 3)
- Walk 5km (1 Incense)
- Spin 30 PokéStops or Gyms (5 Rare Candy)
- Catch a Pokémon on 5 different days (5 Super Potions)
Rewards: Grovyle encounter with Location Background, 2,000 Stardust, 2,000 XP
National Trust Local Timed Research (step 3 of 3)
- Power up Pokémon 10 times (1 Poffin)
- Make 30 Nice Curveball Throws (1 Premium Raid Pass)
- Win 3 Raids (2,000 Stardust)
- Earn 3 Candies exploring with your buddy (10 Ultra Balls)
Rewards: Sceptile encounter with Location Background, 3,000 Stardust, 3,000 XP
