Minior was first introduced to Pokémon Go in October 2026.
The Meteor Pokémon appears in the game alongside real-world meteor showers, with one form appearing at a time with each event.
Though we don't know the order of these colourful forms, we do know the Minior meteor shower schedule for 2026 and beyond - and how to catch Minior during these times.
Here's everything we know about how to get Minior in Pokémon Go, the 'Minior Shower' Timed Research rewards, and the full list of Minior cores on the way.
How to catch Minior in Pokémon Go
Minior appears during set times of the year - specifically, when there's a real-world meteor shower taking place.
When these occur - see the next section for a full schedule - then Minior will spawn in the wild between 5pm and 11:59pm local time.
To help, the in-game night sky will be lit up by shooting stars - both on the map, and during the catch phase - as well as in the Weather screen, letting you know that Minior spawns are possible.

What else do I need to know about Minior in Pokémon Go?
As well as the above core info, here's what else is worth knowing about Minior:
- Each Minior offers increased Stardust per catch (1,000 Stardust each).
- While we're talking about Stardust - for the 'Minior Shower' Timed Research during its October debut, make sure you have your Star Piece active when fully completing the quest to make the most of it!
- As mentioned, two cores (released during the Geminids shower between 11th to 16th December) will be regional exclusive to the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
- Minior will change forms in battle, starting in Meteor Form (higher defence, lower attack) then exposing its core (higher attack, lower defence) when below 50% health.
- These form changes can only take place during Team Go Rocket encounters and in the Go Battle League, at least "initially", according to Scopely Explore comms.
Best of luck getting all Minior forms across the year! We'll explain whenever a new meteor shower rolls around in our weekly Pokémon Go schedule newsletter.
