Bramblin and Brambleghast are two new additions to Pokémon Go from 2026's 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event.

The Tumbleweed Pokémon arrive from Gen 9, where Bramblin can evolve into Brambleghast by walking as your Buddy in Pokémon Go. With regards to how to get a Bramblin, however, that can be acquired through one of three sources in the event.

This guide explains how to get Bramblin and Brambleghast in the 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event, and a look at shiny Bramblin and Brambleghast for when they eventually arrive in the game.

How to get Bramblin in Pokémon Go

Bramblin in Pokémon Go can be found from the following sources during the 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event, which runs between Tuesday, 12th October at 10am until Monday, 19th October at 8pm local time:

Whether Bramblin will stick around in the Incense pool after the event ends remains to be seen - so make sure you catch at least one while it lasts.

How to evolve Bamblin into Brambleghast in Pokémon Go

To get Brambleghast in Pokémon Go, evolve an Bramblin with 50 Bamblin Candy and after walking 20km as your Buddy.

That means as well as catching a handful of Bramblin to source Bramblin Candy (or using Rare Candy), your chosen Bramblin must be set as your Buddy for some time in order for it to evolve. So find one you're happy with after the event starts, and get walking!

Are shiny Bramblin and shiny Brambleghast in Pokémon Go yet?

No - Bramblin and Brambleghast are not shiny in Pokémon Go, as per most new additions to the game. (If you do want to chase something during the event hours, then there is an increased shiny chance for Electrike throughout, and Hisuin Growlithe from Friday, 16th.)

In the meantime, here's what shiny Bramblin and shiny Brambleghast look like:
