'Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun' - also known as 'Choose Your Own Daily Path' - is a branching questline in Pokémon Go.

Running between 10am on Wednesday, 17th June and Sunday, 21st June at 8pm, it's the latest in a series of Explore, Catch, Battle quests that appear during non-event weeks.

However, a key change from previous Choose a Path quests is that some players get a new choice each day, while others have their choice for the rest of the week. As such, the tasks involve differ - though the bonuses on offer and rewards remain the same.

This guide features all six 'Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun' research bonuses, the possible tasks, and the rewards available.

'Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun' bonus differences in Pokémon Go

Between 10am local time on Wednesday, 17th June, to Sunday, 21st June at 8pm local time, you'll get either a daily or week-long choice of one of six bonuses.

The six choices are as follows:

If you only get three of the above, then you have week-long version of the research.

Either way, you'll then get similar Timed Research related to that choice, which is explained later in this article.

What is the best 'Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun' choice for you?

With the rewards being the same, and most challenges being fairly straightforward to complete, it's all about the bonuses.

Each one is situational based on how you play, but as someone who has purchased the Deluxe Go Pass June track and has a Timed Incubator, then the Explore (Hatch)'s 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance is a big draw for me.

However, as the week goes on and Saturday's Frigibax Community Day arrives, then the Catch (Candy) which offers additional Catch Candy with Nice Throws or better is probably best.

And if you're visiting an area with lots of PokéStops, especially ones you haven't spun before, meaning you get additional XP for doing so? Then Explore (PokéStops)'s 5x XP for spinning PokéStops is a great shout.

So think about how your day ahead is shaping up, and go for the one with the most benefits. I'll likely stick to the 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance most days, and then switch to Catch (Candy) on Saturday myself.

What we know about Fossil Fun's 'Choose Your Own Daily Path' Timed Research

With six possible options available, not every daily 'Fossil Fun' set of research tasks has been fully revealed by the community.

However, while the challenges themselves differ, each one works the same, with three or four tasks that reward a Shieldon encounter, followed by the same set again with a Cranidos encounter. Then, at the end, you are given 3 Golden Razz Berry, 5 Rare Candy. You have until midnight to complete the challenges.
