Welcome to the latest One More Catch weekly newsletter, offering you a guide to the days ahead in Pokémon Go.
It's officially spooky season. There are two Halloween events this week - Part 1 on Tuesday, and Part 2 on Sunday - ushering in new costumed Pokémon, a shiny debut, two new Mega Level 4 Pokémon, and the tease of "surprises" from Pokémon in the wild.
So here's a snapshot of everything coming to Pokémon Go in the days ahead, the biggest opportunities available, and a roundup of Pokémon news and site updates you may have missed.

What to know about this week
I'm continuing the shorter and snappier format from last week to see if it sticks. If you have any feedback on the approach, do drop me an email!
- 'Halloween Part 1' is the focus of much of the week, which starts on Tuesday. Beyond three new costumed Pokémon (Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet, Zubat with a top hat, Sinistea with a bow), the most interesting thing is the tease of "spooky surprises left behind by mischievous Pokémon in the wild" - including encounters with event-themed Pokémon, candy for the three costumed Pokémon and Rare Candy.
- Beyond the 2x Catch Candy boost and the usual changes to wild encounters and Field Research, this seems like a fairly underwhelming event, at least until the Sunday. Fingers crossed those "spooky surprises" from wild Pokémon include a few unannounced extras to keep things interesting.
- There is also an autocompleting Timed Research with six Rare Candies and a costumed Pikachu encounter. So even if you don't plan to play much this week, at least log in to claim that.

- The weekend is when things pick up a bit in my estimations, starting with Mega Chandelure getting its debut on Saturday, which according to Dialgadex, will be the strongest Ghost-type attacker in the game (and fairly up there as a Fire-type attacker, too).
- There's also free Timed Research featuring Tyranitar, and a community Global Challenge which introduces various Mega Chandelure power boosts to also take part in.
