'Choose Your Path: Charged Embers' - also known as 'Choose Your Own Daily Path' - is a branching questline in Pokémon Go.

Running between 10am on Tuesday, 30th June and Friday, 3rd July at 8pm, it's the latest in a series of Explore, Catch, Battle quests that appear during non-event weeks.

Similar to 'Fossil Fun' a few weeks' back, 'Charged Embers' sees some players get a new choice each day, while others have a single choice that lasts for the entire week. As such, your tasks might differ to other players - but know the bonuses and the Pokémon encounters (Electabuzz and Magmar) you are rewarded are the same whether you are are weekly or daily version of the event.

This guide features all six 'Choose Your Path: Charged Embers' research bonuses, the possible tasks, and the rewards available.

'Choose Your Path: Charged Embers' bonus differences in Pokémon Go

Between 10am on Tuesday, 30th June and Friday, 3rd July at 8pm local time, you'll get either a daily or week-long choice of one of six bonuses.

The six choices are as follows:

The choices and bonuses are the same as the previous event, 'Fossil Fun'. However, what changes are the Pokémon encounter rewards of Electabuzz and Magmar.

If you only get three of the above (Explore, Catch, Battle), then you have week-long version of the research. If so, you'll then get similar Timed Research related to that choice, which is broken down at the end of this article.

What is the best 'Choose Your Path: Charged Embers' choice for you?

With the rewards being the same no matter what you pick, and most challenges being fairly straightforward to complete, it's all about the bonuses.

As with 'Fossil Fun', it's all about how you play. As someone with a Timed Incubator from June's Go Pass, I'm choosing the Explore (Hatch)'s 1/2 egg Hatch Distance to make the most of it before it disappears.

Another possible use is to take advantage of this week's raids, which sees Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and most importantly, Mega Lucario enter rotation from Wednesday. As such, choosing Battle (Raids) or Catch (Candy) to squeeze out more rewards from those encounters is a good shout. (You can see this week's Pokémon Go events to help you plan your days ahead.)

Either way, know that the 'Charged Embers' event is only around until 8pm local time on Friday, so you won't be able to take advantage of them during Saturday's 'Sobble Community Day' or the '10th Anniversary Party' event.

How Charged Ember's 'Choose Your Own Daily Path' Timed Research works

While the challenges within each choice are different, they each have the same approach, with two sets of repeating tasks, with the first half rewarding a Electrabuzz and the second a Magmar.

At the end, you'll then receive 3 Golden Razz Berry and 5 Rare Candy. You have until midnight to complete the challenges before the choice resets.

For example, here is the Explore (PokéStops) set (thanks to Tagman50 on YouTube for the following):
