Four Pokémon Go Twitch drops will be available during the August 2026 Pokémon World Championships and PokémonXP events this year.
It's not as simple as redeeming some codes, however. To get involved, get set up on Twitch with a linked account, then watch specific streams for a certain amount of time to unlock 'em all.
The first three Timed Research rewards can be claimed as soon as Friday, while a fourth while be available on Saturday only.
This Pokémon Go guide explains the times of each 2026 Pokémon World Championships and PokémonXP stream, eligible Twitch streams, and the rewards on offer.
When does the August 2026 Pokémon World Championships start, and what Twitch drops are available?
The 2026 Pokémon World Championships starts at 9am PDT on Friday, 28th August, which is the following times in Europe and the Americas:
- BST (UK): 5pm
- CEST (Western Europe): 6pm
- EDT (East Coast Americas): 12pm
- PDT (West Coast Americas): 9am
The event will also start at the above times on Saturday and Sunday.
Before we get into specific streams and times, all four Twitch Pokémon Go Twitch drops at a glance are:
- Watch the main streams for 30 minutes then 60 minutes total for two Timed Research quests
- Watch a co-streamer for 45 minutes for the 'Greetings from San Francisco!' Bonus Timed Research
- Watch Saturday's PokémonXP Panel Pokémon Go panel for 30 minutes for the final Timed Research
As well as the above Timed Research, there is also a code distribution for a 2026 Worlds Tee (Green) avatar item with code SANFRANCISCO2026.

Team Building: Great League Bonus Timed Research (30 minutes, main feeds)
- Reward: Timed research with a "championship-ready Great League team" with a choice between Lickitung, Totodile, and Paldean Wooper
- When: Starting 5pm UK / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
- How to unlock: Watch any of the following for 30 minutes:
- Friday and Saturday: Pokémon Go channel
- Sunday: Pokémon channel
2025 World Champion's Timed Research (60 minutes, main feeds)
- Reward: Timed Research with 2025 winner Beezleboy's Tinkerton with a unique Special Background, plus an Elite Charged TM
- When: Starting 5pm UK / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
- How to unlock: Watch any of the following for 60 minutes:
- Friday and Saturday: Pokémon Go channel
- Sunday: Pokémon channel
Greetings from San Francisco! Bonus Timed Research (45 minutes, co-streamer feeds)
- Reward: Timed Research with a World Championships 2026 Pikachu encounter
- When: Starting 5pm UK / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
- How to unlock: Watch co-streamer feeds for 45 minutes:
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Co-streamer such as j0beats, Bytell2, PurpleOfficiel, srtahoothoot, KeibronGamerYT, Nuralkar and more
PokémonXP Timed Research (30 minutes, PokémonXP feed)
- Reward: Timed Research with a Pikachu wearing a Cosmog-themed spacesuit encounter
- When: Starting 6pm UK / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT on Saturday
- How to unlock: Watch the PokémonXP Panel: Celebrating 10 Years of Pokémon Go stream for 30 minutes (panel lasts 60 minutes total):
- Saturday: PokémonXP channel
How to claim Pokémon Go Twitch drop codes
To get the codes and activate your rewards, you must do the following:
- Connect your Pokémon Trainer Central account to your Twitch account
- Watch the streams at the times outlined above
- Activate the reward in your Twitch inventory
- Note: if you're struggling, try redeeming from the Twitch mobile app.
- Visit the Pokémon Trainer Central website to get the code
- Note: there appears to be a delay in rewards appearing - try waiting for codes to appear.

Once done, you then redeem the code on the official Pokémon Go website to get the items. It's a bit of a faff, so if you activate then visit the website when you have two or more rewards unlocked, it saves you a bunch of taps / clicks.
If the above is not working, try the following:
- Make sure your Pokémon Trainer Central account is connected to your Twitch account. This is essential for it to work.
- If the watch time counter isn't increasing, make sure the Twitch streaming is playing properly. In my experience, it paused occasionally, especially if you leave it idle.
- If you don't get a code in Twitch, that's expected - the code itself is on the Pokémon Trainer Central website as linked above, which is unlocked by watching on Twitch first.
- Make sure you have watched when the stream is active - the times are in the section above.
