'Choose Your Path: Fairy Trail' - also known as 'Choose Your Own Daily Path' - is a branching questline in Pokémon Go.

Running between 10am on Tuesday, 28th July and Monday, 3rd August at 8pm, it joins Fossil Fun and Charged Embers in the series of Explore, Catch, Battle quests during non-event weeks.

As with previous events, some players get a new choice every day, while others have one for the whole week. However, though the tasks differ, the bonuses and rewards are the same: encounters with Morelull and Impidimp.

This guide features all six 'Choose Your Path: Fairy Trail' research bonuses, the possible tasks, and the rewards available.

'Choose Your Path: Fairy Trail' bonus differences in Pokémon Go

Between 10am on Tuesday, 28th July and Monday, 3rd August at 8pm local time, you'll get either a daily or week-long choice of one of six bonuses.

The six choices are as follows:

Know that these choices are the same as the recent Fossil Fun and Charged Embers events.

If you only get three of the above, then you have week-long version of the research. Either way, you'll then get similar Timed Research related to that choice, which is explained later in this article.

What is the best 'Choose Your Path: Fairy Trail' choice for you?

Since the encounters are the same regardless of your pick, and the tasks to unlock them are straightforward enough, your main consideration is the bonus itself.

The good news is you can pick a new one each day, ideally based what you want to focus on. That said, you can still have a strong preference overall: for example, Explore (Hatch)'s 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance is a big draw for me as someone who doesn't tend to raid or catch manually (I'm a heavy Go Plus device user) most days, so I'll default to that if I'm playing as normal.

However, if I'm visiting an area with PokéStops I haven't spun before, then I pay opt for the Explore (PokéStops)'s 5x XP PokéStop spin bonus.

So think about the day ahead, and opt for the bonus with the most benefits for you.

What we know about Fairy Trail's 'Choose Your Own Daily Path' Timed Research

With six possible options available, not every daily 'Fossil Fun' set of research tasks has been fully revealed by the community.

However, while the challenges themselves differ, each one works the same, with three or four tasks that reward a Morelull encounter, followed by the same set again with a Impidimp encounter. Then, at the end, you are given 3 Golden Razz Berry, 5 Rare Candy. You have until midnight to complete the challenges.
