Pokémon Go's 'Fall Marathon' Timed Research features a rare costumed Pokémon: Pikachu wearing a marathon visor.
Running between Tuesday, 12th October at 10am until Monday, 19th October at 8pm local time as part of the 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event, the Timed Research is similar to other Marathon events this year in that it ends in the rare costumed Pokémon.

'Fall Marathon' Timed Research
The following research has to be completed before Monday, 19th October at 8pm local time:
'Fall Marathon' Timed Research quest (step 1/1)
- Explore 5km (reward: 4,200 XP)
- Explore 10km (reward: 4,200 XP)
- Explore 21km (reward: 4,200 XP)
- Explore 42km (reward: 4,200 XP)
End reward: Pikachu with a marathon visor costume encounter
Is there another way to get Pikachu with a marathon visor in the 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event?
There is not. As with the 'Spring Marathon' and 'Summer Marathon' events earlier in the year, this is the only way to get the marathon visor Pikachu costume during 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek', and that's through Timed Research.
This also means there's just one attempt at a getting a shiny during the event. However, since this costumed Pikachu has already appeared twice previously, there's a possibility it'll show up again before 2026 is out; could we see a Winter Marathon event, for example?
(This is speculation on my part, but either way, it's likely you'll have another shot at a marathon visor Pikachu one day - even if the Marathon event returns in the Spring next year.)
