Today is a new season in Pokémon Champions, and the first major change to the game since April's update 1.03.
So what's new? While other live service games rollout major new content and balance changes with a new season, Pokémon Champions Season M-2 is a little more reserved.
There's indeed a new Battle Pass with cosmetics to unlock and rewards to earn, and a couple of bug fixes, but otherwise this is more of a 'rank reset' than anything new - pushing Trainers back to the bottom of the Ranked ladder for them to climb back up again.
Here's a quick digest of what's new in Pokémon Champions's Season M-2, and what hasn't changed.
What's new in Pokémon Champions Season M-2?
- Season M-2 begins, ending Wednesday, June 17, 2026
- Player rank resets
- Champion Tier and Master Ball Tier ranks 1-3 will open in one week's time on Wednesday, 20th May
- A results screen the first time you attempt a ranked battle, detailing your final Season M-1 placement and headline team
- VP rewards based on your final placement in the M-1 season
- Final Season M-1 Ranking data in the 'Battle Data' area of the Battle menu
- Two bug fixes (via X):
- Dark Lariat and Sacred Sword not activating correctly.
- Visual issues regarding battles/network.
- New Season M-2 Battle Pass rewards, featuring Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Skarmory and Style items, including new jeans, jacket and another trilby

What hasn't changed?
- Season M-2 follows the same M-A regulations, meaning the same Pokémon Champions roster still applies
- Despite downloading a 5mb patch in-game, Pokémon Champions is still on version 1.03, meaning no major balance patches beyond the bug fixes listed above
That's about it! We'll update this article with any other changes that may have slipped through, otherwise consider Season M-2 a rank reset and Battle Pass refresh only ahead of the meatier Season M-3 release next month.
