Welcome to the latest One More Catch weekly newsletter, offering you a guide to the days ahead in Pokémon Go.
If you thought the weekend's Zorua Community Day was a Buddy extravaganza, then there's more to come in this week's 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event - which offers a new debut in the form of Bramblin. Elsewhere, it's another chance at a rare Pikachu costume (hope you have comfortable footwear...) and one of my favourite event types returns on Saturday.
So here's a snapshot of everything coming to Pokémon Go in the days ahead, the biggest opportunities available, and a roundup of Pokémon news and site updates you may have missed.
Pokémon Go this week (12th to 18th October)
All times are at your local time, unless otherwise stated.

What to know about this week
Here's what jumps out to me in the days ahead:
Some slightly unique debuts
There's two wholly new unreleased Pokémon in Tuesday's 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event: Gen 9 Pokémon Bramblin and evolution Brambleghast.
It's noteworthy for two reasons: one, you can only get it from Incense and the event Go Pass; two, to evolve one into Brambleghast, you have to walk Bramblin as your Buddy for 20km (alongside 50 Candy).

True to its tumbleweed appearance - and the theme of the event itself - will be a lot of walking involved; make sure you pop on an Incense when the event starts 10am Tuesday (the duration of which increases to two hours a pop once you reach Rank 10 of the event Go Pass, FYI) and try and find a decent one to Buddy up with.
I would say you should do this right away, but there's also an intriguing event Buddy bonus involving Manectric...
Mega Manectric goes Super
Mega Manectric can become Mega Level 4 as of the 'Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek' event, and there's a neat bonus to help you reach it: once you hit event Go Pass Rank 20, there will be a 5x Mega Energy increase when walking Electrike or Manectric as your Buddy (provided you have already Mega Evolved a Manectric previously).
That sounds like a lot, but when you look at the numbers, I'm not sure it's worth it: by default it's 15 Mega Energy per 3km, so we're looking at 75 Mega Energy per 3km until the event ends at 8pm Monday.

Assuming Mega Level 4 is somewhere around the 5,000 Mega Energy mark to reach, then you're going to really need to pound the pavement (around 200km) to make a dent.
Don't fancy doing that? (I don't blame you!) Then you can also get some Manectric Mega Energy from Field Research and (Premium) Go Pass rewards.
