Pokémon Go Fest Global arrives in Pokémon Go after a lengthy raid week with 'Road of Legends'.

Hope you've saved some Link Charges or Raid Passes, as Mega Mewtwo has arrived for all players. But if you can't go out and battle, the good news is branching Timed Research 'Genetic Mastery' means you can get one for free, alongside Mythical Zeraora.

Beyond that, there's just about every five-star Pokémon returning to raids, a rotating schedule of spawns, many bonuses and much more to take advantage of over the next couple of days. Let's dive right in.

Update (July 12th): Added a section explaining the Sunday differences.

And if you were wondering what else to target, new debuts include:

As for how to get Mega Mewtwo and Zeraora in particular, the following section will help. The costume Pikachu, meanwhile, can be encountered in the Zeraora questline.

🆕
Note: the above were technically already available through in-person Go Fest events between May and June, so these are classed as global debuts.

In a weekend where rotating spawns are vague that chasing down shinies is difficult, hopefully the above can give you some focus.

Before you set out the door, a few reminders...

Remember to pack the essentials, including:

  • Your Go Plus device
  • Charging packs and cables
  • Water and snacks
  • Comfortable footwear and appropriate clothing - a hat, shades, etc
  • A planned route so you can factor in regular stops (if you can situate yourself near a café as you go, all the better)

These are all things I remind myself before a long day's play, as it's very easy to get carried away. If you don't get the raid targets you're after, you can always Remote Raid in the evening (though know the nine free Raid Passes only apply to local raids - to try and use them first).

And remember, if you don't get the Pokémon you're after, there is almost always another opportunity at a future event (and if not, that's what trading is for). Ultimately, pacing yourself on weekends like these is more important!

Phew! Very best of luck with the event this weekend. I hope you get the shinies and Mewtwos you're after. If this guide was useful, forward it on to a friend, and / or subscribe to the newsletter mailing list if you haven't already.
